A fun Holiday

Johnny gave me a new camera for Christmas and this little video was on it.

We stayed down here in Hurricane and enjoyed our time together. We enjoyed visiting with family through the web cam (Jorryn especially). She sang and danced for everyone.

Johnny's family came down and we had such a nice time visiting. Jorryn especially loved playing with Donny.

Once there was a snowman

Thank you Amber. I look so pretty!

We braved the cold during one of Evelynn's winter naps and built a snowman. That is something you don't plan on getting to do down south. I think the snow was sent for me to keep me from over doing it after I had a baby a few days before. Otherwise I would have tried to walk the neighborhood.

Once the snow melted a little we finally got to take Jorryn's new scotter out for a ride. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa, She loves it. I will try to post some video of her riding it later this week.

The Baby has Arrived

Evelynn Navarrete was born yesterday at 10:38 a.m. She was a very healthy 9 lbs. 3 oz and 20 in. long. She is very pleasant and content. She has round cheeks and strong legs. I woke up at 3:30 with consistent contractions about 15 minutes apart. We got Jorryn out of bed around 6:00 and got checked in at the hospital around 7:00. the Doctor came and broke mt water, then they gave me a dose of pitosin around 9 a.m. I got my epidural at 10:00 and started pushing at 10:30. It was so nice. It was my perfect scenario for all of it.

Thanksgiving weekend a gate way into Christmas

We had such a nice time up in Pine Valley for Thanksgiving with the Jim and Lori Olsen Family. Thank you so much for inviting us. The food and the company far out weighed what Golden Corral would have provided. And Bret's Lori makes outstanding Pies!
I have been reading lots of Thanksgiving Pilgrim and Indian books to Jorryn. That must be where she got the idea to do this. I had been leaving my makeup out on the bench at the foot of my bed so it is quick to grab when we have to go to the hospital. Jorryn found some cream eye shadow and used the whole container. It took days to come off. She looked like a little Lamanite child for a while. Every little girl has to do this sometime!

On Friday we put up our Christmas decorations. Jorryn loved all the musical and light up decor. I had to replace all the batteries form last year and am guessing we will go through another round, the way she likes to play them.

We put up our Christmas tree on Saturday morning. It was fun to do as a family. We have had a fun tradition of adding an ornament each year that represents something special from the year. This year we found an ornament of a little girl holding a baby. We are so excited for our Baby to come!

Our Mutual group signed up to perform the Nativity at Tuacchan this year. We got to go and dress up as if we lived in Bethlehem 2000 years ago. It was a lot of fun. It carried a special Christmas spirit. If you are in So. Utah this month, I recommend going. I think it is like 2$ each to watch.

just waiting

Friday I reached the point were having a baby finally felt eminent. My friend who was due three weeks before me had her baby Friday morning and now I am next.
Her family is up north like ours (with the exception of a few wonderful cousins of ours.) So Jorryn got to have her first sleepover with her best friend Ry. We put the mattresses on the floor and the two girls snuggled in (after some time and persuasion.)
I am not planning on being able to function like a normal person during the month of December. So, Johnny and I went on a date Christmas shopping for Jorryn. While we were on our date our wonderful new neighbors with teen girls watched Jorryn. She got to hang out with three 17 year-olds which because of her aunts she already loves to do. They had fun playing dress up with Jorryn and made her a dress out of ribbons and cloth. She watched princess movies with them outside under the stars and had a picnic. She wants us to go on a date all the time now. We sit next to this fun family in church now and for the last three weeks I have heard what the speaker said! I have missed that. Johnny is called to attend the Spanish branch which meets the same time as our ward so it has been just me and Jorryn for a few months now. It is nice to have someone else to help Jorryn be reverent and will be extra nice when the little sis comes.
So, as of last Tuesday my cervix was dilated 1 centimeter. My next appointment is on Thursday. Everyone asks us what we will name her. We still haven't come to a consensus. We like:
Kirsten Lynn
Nicole Lynn
Sadie Lynn (which Amber clams Sadie is ment for her child, I say she will have all boys)
Evelynn
If any one wants to give suggestions or comments we are open. Just please don't ruin any of the names we like by telling us it sounds like a hussies name or something.

Halloween

Here are some pictures form our Halloween.

Jorryn went Trick or treating with her friend Rylie (the cute little witch). One of our neighbors had a spooky tunnel leading to there door with fog and black lights and creepy music. He was dressed in a dark cape with scary gloves. Jorryn thought it was all fun until their fluffy puppy peaked out from around the corner. Then she screamed and said, "Mommy Hold me!"

Jorryn dressed as a giraffe, Johnny was a cowboy, and I was a witch.

We used power tools to carve our pumpkin this year. Our pumpkin is supposed to look like it has an exposed brain.

My little Giraffe

We went to a Halloween party tonight. It was fun to see all the neighbors in their cute costumes. Here is the cutest giraffe I have ever seen. (Watch out Hogal Zoo newborns)

Fall Break

Johnny took some days off of work during the fall break from school. We went camping up at red cliffs desert reserve for a night. We are luck it is so close to home because, we got up there and realized we have lost our tent poles. We had to come back down and borrow a tent from our friends. It is o.k. that we lost our tent poles. We are in the marked for a larger tent for next season. One that will fit all four of us and our stuff. We were getting tight in the last one.

We went to the Corn maze last night with Jorryn. She loved looking at the animals. she liked to hide in the corn maze, with her flashlight on, then jump out and scare us. We saw some big kids doing it and had to try it out ourselves. She liked the hayride behind the tractor. She sand, "The people on the tractor go up and down...."

We hope all our friends and family are well. It is always fun to get updates from each of you.

Mama Bird

The last few weeks I have been all about reorganizing my home. I am not sure if it is the change in season or the weening months of my pregnancy. Johnny attributes it to the baby.

We had our last quick visit to see our families before the baby comes at the end of September. Jorryn had fun picking carrots out of Granny's garden.

We took Jorryn miniature golfing last weekend and she said she had more fun playing soccer then she did golfing. She liked kicking and throwing the golf ball, not just hers but all of ours.

Jorryn has been all about dressing up and doing her hair fancy. We have so much fun.

Her favorite thing to do lately is read Green Eggs and Ham. We read that book at least 8 times a day. She almost has the whole thing memorized. (That and Goldilocks and the Three Bears!) It's fun to see her understand the point of stories without being explicitly taught. She was sitting in her car seat as we were driving one day and she grabbed something new and said, "Mom, I am going to try this like in Sam-I-Am. Oh I do like it!" It is so fun to observe her learning!
